Paradise Valley Adventures!
Last week both our Freshman and Sophomore crews traveled through the windy city of Livingston and into the Yellowstone River Basin, however their adventures took place in very different terrain.
Our soon-to-be high schoolers made their way to the edge of Yellowstone Park in Gardiner, Montana to join forces with Wild West Rafting and hop on the river. The participants escaped the heat for the day as they navigated the rapids of the upper Yellowstone together. With plenty of sunshine to soak up and swimming holes to cool off in, working together as a rafting team set the stage for a workshop focused on group challenges.
Instead of traveling down the river, all of our Sophomores made their way up the Absaroka Mountains as a giant group. After crossing the Yellowstone and reaching the trailhead, our crew hiked to Pine Creek Falls to enjoy the scenery and spend time together in a new place outdoors. Although just being outside together is important, the participants also spent time actively connecting with nature through journal activities and other initiatives as they close in on the final week of programming which will consist of reflecting on their time spent together this summer.
After this week, BYEP will be on its session break. We will reconvene the week of September 10th with regular workshop times from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
If you haven't had the opportunity yet, please take a few minutes to fill out the Parent/Guardian Survey found here. Every response is read and considered in an honest effort to better our program in its ability to support the participants enrolled with us.
Thanks for a great summer, we will see you this fall!
