Yucca Rieschel has led the Rieschel family donations to numerous non-profit organizations, including the Los Gatos Education Foundation, All Stars Helping Kids, Big Sky Youth Empowerment, Sunshine House, The Warren Miller Freedom Foundation, Wisdom in Action/Unsung Heroes of Compassion, One Heart World-wide, Machik, and US Olympic Paralympic Foundation.
Yucca worked on the certification program for Concordia International School Shanghai, and led the effort to dramatically upgrade the Chinese language program at the school. She organized and led auctions and events that raised several million RMB for the school. She founded an English teaching program to help the local Chinese elementary and middle school students in Shanghai. Most recently she has been working with Mark Johnson, worldwide History Teacher of the Year, to translate letters from traditional Chinese to English that were left behind by some of the earliest Chinese immigrants to Montana in the 1800s.
Yucca has a B.S. in Economics and Business from Santa Clara University. She has lived in Hong Kong, Japan, the U.S., and China. From 2005 to 2016 she lived in Shanghai with her husband Gary and their two children. Currently she resides in Seattle.
She is a trustee of the U.S. Olympic Committee and is on the board of BYEP and USA Badminton, in addition to her work at Machik.
