Drum roll please...introducing BYEP's new Tutoring Program!
Academic support for your kids? Yes please! Due to popular demand, BYEP will now be piloting a tutoring option for our participants. Beginning September 18th, tutoring will be held two days a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Similar to workshops, a BYEP mentor or Program Manager will pick up participants at our regular pick-up locations - Wendy's in Bozeman, Belgrade High, and Town Pump in Four Corners. Reminder text messages will go out to kids on Sunday and Wednesday regarding the tutoring program. Participants MUST let me know that they will be in attendance, and indicate whether or not they need a ride. If participants sign up to attend tutoring, and do not show up, we will contact parents within 24 hours.
The tutoring program will be supervised by current BYEP mentors, two MSU teacher candidates, and one teacher from Bridger Charter Academy. Participants will arrive to BYEP at 4:00, eat a snack, and walk over to Hawthorne Elementary as a group by 4:30.
Participants will use the next two hours to work on homework or projects of their choice. Adults will be available to answer any questions they may have. A number of the volunteers are strong in math skills - bonus! Participants are expected to work quietly and stay at the tutoring program for the entire time.
At 6:30, participants will help clean up Hawthorne, walk back to BYEP, and receive rides to our drop off locations in Belgrade or Four Corners with the other BYEP workshop participants. Bozeman kids will need to be picked up at BYEP HQ by a family member.
We are excited to offer this new service to our kids. Please encourage your son or daughter to take advantage of this opportunity. If your participant cannot receive text messages and you would like to add an alternative number, please email or call me with contact information (or questions!)
