(and) Explored Growth Mindsets

Be committed to growth is one of the values that BYEP is founded in. It reminds us to step out of our comfort zones, and examine the ways we can expand as individuals. Last week members explored growth as it pertains to personal perspective-taking. Groups learned the difference between a growth mindset and a fixed mindset and were challenged to evaluate which mindset is more prevalent for them. As a result members were able to identify ways in which they can shift their mindset to be more growth oriented.

(and) Explored their Relationship with Nature

Beyond getting outside and exploring, the intention was for participants to get curious about their surroundings. Members set off like detectives and discovered what commonalities they had with nature. One participant made a correlation between themselves and a tree; both having an outer layer for protection. Summer at BYEP is all about making the time to “stop and smell the roses”- the natural world is endless.
