As our winter session continues to fly by our participants continue to explore independence (Crux 10th Grade) and cultivate independent living skills (Crux 11th Grade) through their weekly workshops. On top of our typical but always rad weekly trips to Big Sky we've gotten a chance to snowboard with the entire RIDE Snowboard pro team, make a trip to the skating rink which involved a ton of smiles (and some sore bodies), as well as take our skiing skills to the flatter lands of nordic tracks.
Crux 11 has been working on independent living skills by budgeting, planning, and cooking a meal together as a group, as well as participating in mock interviews with our BYEP Board members and creating resumes to prepare for our job placement program this summer.
Crux 10 has been exploring their own internal independence as they transition into role-models for the Approach participants by exploring their own identities through activities such as wellness wheels, story exchanges, and working on empathy between group members.
