The BYEP Endowment

 
 

The BYEP Endowment fund was set up in 2019 through the Bozeman Area Community Foundation at the discretion of a generous anonymous donor, who believed wholeheartedly that BYEP should exist in the Gallatin Valley for years to come. 

The official goal of the BYEP Endowment is to ensure teenagers in the Gallatin Valley receive comprehensive support during a critical time in their lives. This endowment supports scholarships for kids to go on outdoor adventures, partake in group mentorship, and attend workshops on social-emotional learning. Through this long term investment, BYEP seeks to support ongoing generations of young people as they grow into happy, healthy, contributing members of our community.


How is our Endowment structured?

  • Our endowment is structured so the principal amount you invest remains intact forever. The interest generated from the fund will be available to BYEP annually, helping ensure consistent funding for our kids and programs.

  • The BYEP Endowment is managed through the Bozeman Area Community Foundation. Their lawyers and financial experts make sure the fund is taken care of.


Why give to the endowment?

  • Support BYEP for the long term. This is the gift that keeps on giving. As Bozeman grows, this endowment will ensure that kids in the Gallatin Valley have support indefinitely.

  • Create a Legacy for you and your family. Since an endowment gift helps BYEP forever, it is a legacy of giving you can create for your family.

  • Eligibility for the Montana Tax credit. When you give to an endowment through a planned gift, you can be eligible for the Montana Tax credit. You don't want to miss out on this. Learn more here. 


How to give to our endowment?

  1. Give online through the Bozeman Area Community Foundation by clicking here. 

  2. Write a check directly to BYEP with the memo "BYEP Endowment Fund"

  3. Include us in your will using the following sample language. Please consult your estate attorney to make sure all your boxes are checked.

    I hereby give, devise and bequeath _________ and No/100 dollars ($DOLLARS) to Big Sky Youth Empowerment Project Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located at 225 E. Mendenhall Ave., Bozeman, MT, 59718, Federal Tax ID #81-0543203, for the BYEP Endowment managed through the Bozeman Area Community Foundation.
